Treasure Island Music
Pronounced “Dance”, Danze Macabre enter the classic rock and metal sound scene with their self-titled album. Their first taster of the new work comes in the form of Connected, a new single that sets the tone for what is to come. Having previously worked with male vocalists, this group of musicians from Hampshire, England, have turned their tangent and begun to work with a female range instead. As if synchronicity demanded it, Mark and Steve Owers stumbled over classically trained vocalist, Nell Montague-Rendall. When their meeting came to pass, their directions became unified through song and the brothers had found themselves a singer.
The ray of sunlight screams down from the murky clouds with a symphonic synth intro full of rock guitar punch. Melodic lead aligns with the orchestral harmonies to entice the vocalist from under the canopy. Epic forward facing and bardic renditions of fantasy and symbolic meaning gift us with tales of power and majesty. The sweet riffs that sparkle behind the song remain fresh and invigorating while classical nods in the use of melody and flow bring the story to an ancient and much loved book of tradition. Skilful volleys on the guitar form neat and virtuoso cinematic vibes to the smashing competent drums. Double timing and palm-muted scale runs aside, this power-metal song backed up by proficient musicianship and experience makes way for something extremely special with eponymous Danze Macabre, out soon.
