Airport Impressions Why Are We Here? Maltese hot-shot rockers Airport Impressions are back with yet more classic material. This latest incarnation of sound has an esoteric nature, proving that it's not just about drums and guitar. These guys have minds that work overtime when thinking about what to express next. If we don't put the work in, we don't get the job done. This latest song is already receiving massive attention from media and radio around the world. The music begins with deep, throbbing keyboard bass. Vibrant waves of sound thrust forward as a tempo emerges from the silo. As melody builds through a progression involving several instruments, vocal grows and opens out to meet us line by line. A catchy chorus soon follows, that same roaring bass throws the track into passionate whirls while emotional verses sweep us up in ennui. The guitar breathes life into the music as an underlying tone, then during the middle eight is pushed out to the edge where a blues melody soars through. Just A Jester
Supernatural Saviour Seven time Glastonbury Festival veteran and Alternative Fruit regular Just A Jester is back to reveal his fourteenth single as a solo artist. Since playing with Stewart Copeland from The Police, this singer-songwriter has been enjoying a succession of radio play and media attention. The music begins with a twisty beat, ramped-up with swishing sounds and compressed drums. Music begins on a sunny guitar, shimmers of chord flick in windy snaps. Just A Jester sings, his voice carries that familiar effect which makes us feel like we're dreaming. Spiral composition and progressive melody spins a tale of a hero, we honour them and wonder who they really are. Is it you? Find out more about Just A Jester on Facebook and listen on Soundcloud
Richard Ryan
Stand By Me Louisiana high-riser Richard Ryan recently enjoyed a top 20 single and a song of the week slot on his local radio station. With a great voice, a clear mission to be the best at what he does, and a friendly personality, it's all about walking through the open doors. This new cover song is a brilliant choice for helping listeners to find a home for his voice. It begins with a smooth keyboard tune that's quickly propped up by melodic acoustic guitar. The harmonising tones reveal a familiar melody. Then Richard Ryan begins to sing. We know the words, we know the tune, it's his husky voice that resonates the most. An easy-going tempo allows Richard Ryan to fully explore the notes one by one. Choral singers delicately give backing sounds for the chorus while multi-faceted keyboards encircle the strummed progression. Richard Ryan is available on Facebook and on Creative and Dreams. My Sister, My Brother Nothing Without You TBR: March 6th This sparkling EP has been written by a trio of talents made up of Grammy Award nominee Garrison Starr, Sean McConnell, and Peter Groenwald. Already hailed as a songwriting supergroup by the luminary magazine Billboard, this new work is said to explore what it is that makes us human. It's not always good-natured, not always nice, but how does it sound? Perhaps the song-writers had their own unique ideas on the subject. With equal work from all three composers to bring this EP to the shelves, a diverse and philosophically entangled set of foundations have culminated in this one record. The music begins with its title track. Nothing Without You begins with harmonising voices, both male and female. A piano joins the melody with a unison of flow which raises the lyrics up on its waters. Strong notes push from both singers in beautiful swathes of melodic timing. A story progresses, it's asking for help in darkness with a glowing spirit that radiates belief. The song evolves to a chorus of memorable words which hang around after the music ends. Next, a guitar with steel strings plays a folky melody made of shifting chord structures. Again, harmonising voices grow like blossoming trees across the hillside of tone. Each line in the verse brings another line of flowers into the open, releasing sonic perfume in lapping gusts of mild breeze. The song talks about life not being fair and we have to get used to the fact no-one's keeping count. We have to make up for our lost opportunities and unfinished business. Drive You Home perhaps is that friendly chat we have when things didn't turn out the way you wanted. We can only achieve what's available, but in this world it seems everything or nothing is. This is followed by a keyboard with alluring tones playing meaningful chords. A ballad of lyrics begin singing in emotional story-line verses. I Don't Know How To Love You talks of the blockages to honesty and understanding that hold us away from each other. A seductive rhythm and heart-felt choices in the synthesiser arrangement give this song a deep and sad feeling which also feels quite warm and appreciative. Electric guitars and drums begin a rock song for the next track. It has a Fleetwood Mac feel about it, as the beats hammer down against chugging distorted guitar chords. A vocal melody brings forward a sunshine element that causes the curtain of sound to draw back for a verse. The chorus begins after a handful of words, and that powerful kinesis strikes back up again. Smashing cymbals and drums match sustain electric guitar and sleek acoustic which find a companionship in harmonica somewhere in the middle. Forever Now is an uplifting celebration of feeling in love with life itself. Honest comes at the end. Perhaps this is always the way when we are afraid of change and empowerment. A sombre vocal swings back into a love song style, and admits that what you see is what you get because for this individual, change is too hard. I think in life that we all are able to make many changes but there are a few that we simply can't make. It's important to understand where our potential growth stops, maybe it's the support or maybe it's just reality. Pianos, guitars, and open-hearted vocals spill forward in a creamy and addictive serenade to the truth. Genecist Cash The New York hip-hop star Genecist is ready with another new single. Growing up in a musical family, his influences have been diverse and foundational. Perhaps the most influential artists for Genecist have been Lauryn Hill (signed stuff) and Lupe Fiasco. He's taken the best bits of soul and hip-hop to create his perfectly adapted blend. This new song is named after the blood of society, something that is necessary if not dear to our hearts. The music begins with an orchestra playing percussive notes. A melody grows from the rhythmic tones with bells. Genecist begins singing, his voice is poured over the bars in drawn out lines. These harmonise with themselves, until a verse is born. Rap with fun and easy going vibes turns the swing into a bounce before the harmonising section begins again. The swapping of energies in a chorus, verse style switches the atmosphere while remaining true to the beat. You can follow Genecist on Instagram and Twitter Listen to Cash by Genecist on Spotify

Whitestar
Dead Beat Poet South East London rockers Whitestar unleash a head-turning single from their already acclaimed album. Dead Beat Poet (Not sure if I should be offended as a poet or uplifted as a selling one) is from their album Starlight Requiem. Bromley and beyond have been treated to their shows, as many reputable venues have graced their sound over the years. Getting the album out was a momentous task, as it should be, and getting everything just right clearly paid off. The music begins with keyboard choir sounds. Then organ begins with the voice. A male vocal full of emotion sings of his moral values. The rhythm is slow at first, then all of a sudden, it breaks into quick time. The song talks about the desire to sin, to cheat, and to lie. Not sure if I can relate however it sounds good. Perhaps someone out there fits the song nicely, perhaps it's the same people who read this site and claim to be socialists but then act like capitalists by never donating. Big thanks to everyone who's donated recently, you know we rely on you!!! It's fun and gleeful yet riddled with depressing vibes. Weakness and infidelity seem to be glorified in a twisted jig to backwards humanity. Interesting stuff. You can follow Whitestar on Facebook and get their stuff from Bandcamp
NIM$AY and El Dorado (feat. Ami)
Rise NIM$AY began writing music at the age of ten. It didn't take long before her abilities became well-known around the local community. With a talent for finding addictive melodies, people found themselves hooked on her music. Meeting El Dorado was a new chapter for NIM$AY, discovering a gel together that complimented each other's talents, in 2017 they began to record their music. This pairing of sounds had instant success, with live shows following including one at London's O2 Arena. It starts with a colourful guitar, palm-muted glissando and chord sections provide a bouncy melody. Vocals begin with singing and rap taking it in turns to elevate harmonies and layer rhythm across the smooth tempo. Drums gradually build in, and as a chorus breaks the bass is unleashed with funky rolls and breaks. Synthesiser slams in with wide-open strikes of melodious uplifting composition. Lyrics continue in tuneful poetry that hangs from the branches of beat in snug pockets. The music builds up, calms down, then builds up once again until the end. It's fun and entertaining with a happy sense of optimism knitted through the lyrics and the melody. Follow NIM$AY and El Dorado on Facebook and Instagram
Emme Pierre
Love Will Find A Way Emme Pierre returns to Alternative Fruit with a brand new single. Since discovering a talent for music as a teenager, and building a career for herself in the years that followed, Emme has featured in several music acts as a session singer. Also a dab hand at performance, Emme Pierre has played countless shows which has all helped her to find her own wings in the song-writing hall of fame. Since the critically acclaimed Maybe, Love Will Find A Way sets a perfect scene for Valentine's Day which is just around the corner. It begins with a funky keyboard laid out across sleek and easy-going drums. Emme Pierre begins singing. Her lines describe a story, a tough time and difficult feelings. Despite all this, we're reminded to be positive and to enjoy the love offered by another. Guitars add a layer of blues across the gradually progressive rock beats. Flowing vocals pour lyrics over the music-paper with harmonising elements and flurries of brass. It's an uplifting and enjoyable track that no doubt fits well on many playlists. Penelope Darling
Love Myself When growing up, Penelope Darling was given a huge musical influence with her father's diverse music collection. With a plentiful menu of varying genres and sounds, Penelope quickly learned what she liked and what she didn't. Now as a performing musician herself, this early crash-course has helped Penelope Darling to create a unique and enjoyable sound all of her own. Her latest single, Love Myself, brings home the genius and the talent for listeners all over the world. The music begins with a minor key. Piano tones with muffled edges dictate a melody that becomes a background to Penelope's strong voice. With absolute tone, she begins to tell the song's story. “You make me love myself” seems to be such a powerful line. Moving melodics penetrate the verse lines in between the words while Penelope's voice swings in the rhythm through emotional and personally open phrases. Cabaret elements allow me to picture the singer sitting cross-legged on a grand piano while looking into the eyes of the front row.
