I Gave You Flowers
Released October 18.
Writing in response to his father's death, Italian raised Londoner Heren Wolf brings us his second studio single. I Gave You Flowers takes a melancholy walk through a heart-felt and mournful subject matter. After the inaugural Phoenix, on which Heren Wolf worked with Flat 6 Music, things are looking good for this ambitious and entertaining explorer of male emotion. As he works his alchemy to fashion art from the most difficult of things, Heren Wolf makes the inaccessible open its doors for us all to enter any time we wish. Hopefully many will find solace in the music as it puts the indescribable into words.
The song begins immediately, without an introduction. Thrust straight into the sound of sadness, we listen as Heren Wolf spills his words gently over piano chords and swelling bass. Electronic sounds swirl in distant corridors, and as they gather closer, assembling a choral addition, new voices enter the music like a wave of the windswept curtain. Deep feelings and emotive clarity grasp the listener as the song progresses and churns away any doubt as to the reality of this character. Excellently manicured and brilliantly controlled, the sensations within the singer reveal themselves poignantly.
