Hard-hitting confident music doesn't come any more uplifting than this, synthesisers and beats give Kimbro the ultimate podium to strut his stuff as a powerful vocalist. His new track Wave pushes us even further into his corridor of grooves. Opening with a bell chime melody which bounces in a hip-hop orientated rhythm, rapped vocals and storylines flow like epic poetry. Progression in the composition allows the musical pressure to gradually build, simmering like gently cooking soup on a revolving vinyl fire. Stuttering beats with catchy hooks in every bar create rolling tunes which with the addition of subtle effects and samples build a dreamy and high-flying mix. The track is about working hard, doing the best we can, staying in high spirits, and being grateful for the good times that come and go. Catching that wave and surfing the currents of success, Kimbro shows us why he's the Don of his stage.
